Thank you, Insects.

“We’ve done it! With the help of our thousands of dedicated, passionate, and generous backers we’ve raised over $1.3 million dollars to bring System Shock back to life!” raves Nightdive Studio’s CEO, Stephen Kick after we gloriously counted down the final moments of our Kickstarter campaign. Our team had just wrapped up not only a 30 day non-stop adventure on Kickstarter, but also a last 24 hour livestream on Twitch until the campaign closed. He continues, “These last 30 days have been a wild ride but we’ve enjoyed every moment of it. From reading your comments, answering your questions, and interacting with you on Discord and Twitch it’s been an experience we’ve enjoyed more than anything else. It’s clear from the overwhelming outpouring of support that System Shock means so much to so many people and we’re extremely honored that you’ve chosen us – and entrusted us with the monumental task of remaking one of, if not the greatest game of all time. No pressure! We couldn’t have done it without you and look forward to having you join us as we embark on our return voyage to Citadel Station! Again…from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!”

We all share congratulatory hugs, cupcakes, and margaritas (hey it was a long month) as we all breath a sigh of relief and suppress our yawns from having not slept in at least 2 days. Finally time to sign off of our 24 hours live Twitch stream. We all looked GREAT.

Our role

We were an integral part of the success of this Kickstarter Campaign. We handled the overall management from setting up the rewards tiers to implementing post-campaign plug ins. We designed and directed the overall branding of the game, the campaign, and the social media. We managed a marketing team to help deliver tactical social media posts across all major platforms. We made a website for the game (twice, because internet). We helped host a pop-up event in Portland to promote awareness of the game while fans got to play the pre-alpha demo on an 80ft projector screen. We created collaborative giveaways and promotions from companies like Dynamite, Nvidia, Razor, Polygon, PS4, XBox One, and the folks at Steam. We constantly had different tactics firing off back and forth in different threads in our Slack channel for the game. This was our first Kickstarter campaign and we chalk it up as a huge success. Of course, we couldn’t have done it without the amazing help and support from our team at Nightdive Studios, plus all of the beautiful nerds that helped immensely along the way.

Arms & Anchors is very excited have taken such a large part in this game’s resurrection. Being gamers ourselves, were loved the opportunity to be at the forefront of such a meaningful project within the gaming world. We tip our hats to the committed fans of the series for their years of support of the series, and for their contributions the make this Kickstarter the huge success it was.
